Performs work including activities which are complex and/or non-routine. Responsible for technical fault finding, diagnosis, repair, acceptance testing, and calibration on a wide range of engineering plant and equipment, e.g., electrical distribution, lighting, fire detection, building control and automation, standby generator plant, security access control, nurse call systems, and lifts. This list provides examples of the systems and equipment worked on.
Undertake maintenance, repairs, minor improvements, and capital work across the Trust as directed by management, ensuring compliance with safety standards and procedures.
Assist the Electrical Operations Officer in delivering business plans, reviewing planned maintenance procedures, and supporting the organization.
The role is primarily based at either the Basingstoke or Winchester site (also covering Andover), but may require work at other sites depending on service needs.
Main duties of the job
1. Work in accordance with electrical HTMs, statutory regulations, IET Wiring Regulations, and Trust policies.
2. Ensure all work is carried out safely, following risk assessments.
3. Work overtime for emergency repairs as required, subject to individual availability.
4. Carry out essential repairs and general maintenance as requested.
5. Perform planned preventative maintenance inspections and commissioning tests per Trust procedures.
6. Conduct technical fault finding on complex electrical systems and equipment, using cause and effect analysis and detailed examination.
7. Act as Authorised Person (AP) for relevant systems such as LV/HV electrical systems and lifts.
8. Lead service activities as AP, including maintenance planning and managing major interruptions.
9. Attend training to maintain role competency.
10. Follow detailed engineering drawings and specifications, interpreting and adhering to all relevant regulations.
11. Use all relevant tools and equipment safely to complete work.
