St Andrew’s Birmingham is a 118‑bed adult mental healthcare facility comprising eight units that cover medium and low security for both men and women. Located in Stirchley, it is easily accessible by road and public transport.
You will work with an OT team to undertake assessments and treatment within a forensic psychiatric setting. Under the support and guidance of a registered Occupational Therapist, you will use technical and creative skills to provide patient‑centred programmes of therapeutic activities, enabling an individual to achieve their goals. You will have opportunities for training and professional development, as well as regular individual supervision from a Senior Occupational Therapist.
You Should Have
* An understanding of the role of Occupational Therapy
* Good team‑working and communication skills

* Ability to build rapport with a challenging patient group
* Organisational skills and initiative to complete delegated tasks
* Ability to lead therapeutic activity groups under supervision
