The Opportunity
You will work closely with our Course Leader to plan, prepare, and deliver teaching and instruction to both individual learners and groups. Your role will involve combining your industry experience with educational practice to support learners in developing the technical skills and professional behaviours required for a successful career in the electrical trade. You will also provide technician support where necessary, ensuring learners have access to practical, hands-on training that complements theoretical learning.
You will be part of a committed Engineering team, contributing to a positive and supportive learning environment. Whether you are teaching in the classroom, working in the workshop, or visiting learners in the workplace, your input will help students gain confidence, technical knowledge, and practical experience. You will plan and deliver lessons, assess progress, and provide feedback that encourages individual growth, adapting your approach to suit the needs of different learners.
In addition to teaching, you will maintain accurate records, stay up to date with awarding body requirements, industry standards, and health and safety legislation, and ensure all teaching materials and documentation are current. Collaboration is central to your role, and you will work closely with colleagues and employers to create a seamless learning experience, supporting learners to progress successfully into employment or further study.
Through your guidance, support, and practical expertise, you will make a meaningful contribution to the development of the next generation of electricians and to the wider engineering industry.
About You
You are an experienced electrical professional with relevant industry experience in Electrical Installation, bringing both practical skills and technical knowledge to your teaching. You have experience mentoring others or delivering practical training within the electrical industry, and you are confident in carrying out initial and diagnostic assessments to support learners’ development. You are able to plan, deliver, and assess learning effectively, making use of appropriate ILT (Information and Learning Technology) to enhance your teaching.
You have a motivational, positive, and enthusiastic approach, and you enjoy supporting learners to develop the confidence, competence, and professional behaviours needed for a career in electrical installation. Your excellent interpersonal skills allow you to engage with students, colleagues, and employers effectively, adapting your approach to meet the needs of different learners.
You are organised, able to plan and deliver engaging lessons, and comfortable assessing progress and providing constructive feedback. Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records and complying with health and safety standards are also key strengths. Above all, you are dedicated to helping learners achieve their goals and are committed to supporting the development of the next generation of electricians.

Required
* Hold a relevant Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or a related discipline.
* GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent Level 2 qualifications), or a willingness to work towards them.
* Level 4 teaching qualification (or a willingness to work towards achieving this).
* Demonstrable industry experience working in Electrical Installation.
* Experience mentoring colleagues or delivering practical training within the electrical industry.
