Role Description
This is a contract, on-site role for a Clerk of Works, based in Newcastle Upon Tyne. The Clerk of Works will oversee and supervise construction activities to ensure projects are completed in accordance with design specifications and quality standards. The role includes performing regular site inspections, monitoring quality control processes, evaluating workmanship, and reporting progress and issues to the project team. The practitioner will ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards while maintaining accurate documentation for all site activities.
Qualifications
Strong Supervisory Skills to oversee construction staff and ensure adherence to project plans
Proficiency in conducting Site Inspections to monitor progress and adherence to specifications
Experience in Quality Control practices to ensure materials and work meet required standards
Analytical Skills for identifying and resolving construction-related issues efficiently
Thorough knowledge of Inspection techniques to ensure compliance with safety and industry regulations
Excellent communication and reporting skills
Familiarity with construction legislation and codes of practice is an advantage
Relevant professional qualifications or training in building, construction, or engineering
PBSA experience is a must
