About Our Client
Our Client is an established National Legal Aid UK law firm with a London office.
Job Description
3. Partner with the senior leadership team to design and deliver financial strategies supporting sustainable growth and profitability.
4. Identify opportunities to improve margins, optimise cost structures, and enhance financial performance.
5. Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
6. Develop scalable processes and systems to support expansion.
7. Provide commercial insight and data-driven recommendations to influence strategic decision-making.
8. Ensure compliance with relevant legal and regulatory frameworks, including Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR) and be the COFA.
9. Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
10. Manage general ledger activity, journal entries, and financial transactions.
11. Lead credit control and maintain effective cash flow management.
12. Supervise accounts payable, including supplier reconciliations and payments.
13. Maintain and enhance Excel-based reporting tools, while leading the shift toward more automated systems.
14. Support integration between finance and HR systems.
15. Lead and mentor a finance team based in London, with collaboration across multiple locations.
16. Provide guidance, performance management, and professional development opportunities.
17. Foster a culture of teamwork and operational excellence.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Finance Director should have:
18. A professional qualification in accounting or finance, such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA is ideal
19. Qualified by experience in the Legal industry will be excepted
20. Demonstrated experience in financial leadership within the professional services industry.
21. Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and regulatory compliance.
22. Proven ability to manage budgets and deliver cost-effective solutions.
23. Excellent analytical skills with a focus on strategic financial planning.
24. Experience in managing teams and fostering collaboration across departments.
