The opportunity has arisen for an experienced Medical Photographer to apply for a senior Medical Photographer position within the Medical Photography team at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will work alongside the Medical Photography Lead and act as deputy to the X-Ray and Medical Photography Manager and be line manager for 9 band 5 medical photographers, 1 band 5 medical videographer, and a band 3 Photography Assistant.
The post is a cross-site position covering all 5 hospitals within Sheffield Teaching Hospitals and also providing cover for Sheffield Children's Hospital and Chesterfield Royal Hospital.
The successful applicant will contribute to the further development of the Medical Photography service and work closely with the X-Ray and Medical Photography Manager on operational and strategic development within the department.
You need to hold a BSc/BA or equivalent in photography or a closely related media subject, have a PgCert in Clinical Photography or equivalent, and be a registered Medical Illustrator with the Academy of Healthcare Science. You should work according to the Trust PROUD values and demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, working effectively as part of a team in this busy and rewarding patient care area.

We are seeking an experienced Medical Photographer to join as a Senior Medical Photographer at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals. You will be the first-line manager for staff within the department, accountable to the X-Ray and Medical Photography Manager, and work closely with the Lead Photographer to maintain high service levels by planning and prioritizing staffing and resources.
The successful candidate will undertake appraisals for Medical Photographers, Videographers, and the Photography Assistant, monitor mandatory training attendance, record sickness, and conduct sickness absence reviews in line with Trust requirements, maintaining good compliance with directorate targets.
This role involves clinical photography work alongside managerial duties, so effective time management is essential.
