Job Title: SEND Learning Support Assistant

Leader Education are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to join an outstanding SEND secondary school, working with young people aged 11–19 who have a range of complex needs.
The academy caters to approximately 204 pupils with severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), autism, and complex medical needs.
With excellent facilities, including a therapy pool and a fully equipped sensory room, the school provides a stimulating and supportive environment where every pupil has the opportunity to grow, thrive, and achieve their full potential.
The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30 until 15:30 and is a long-term position given a successful trial.

The ideal LSA will:
* Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
* Have experience of working in a transferable role
* Work with the pupils on both a 1:1 basis and in group settings, communicating effectively
* Follow personalised curriculum and care plans to meet pupil’s requirements
* Participate in the planning and implementation of the child’s curriculum through lesson planning
* Possess good classroom skills
* Set up lessons, equipment, and activities within the classrooms
* Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other teams to create a holistic supportive environment for the pupil
