We are seeking a calm, supportive and organised Assistant Examinations Manager at our College Site from October / November 2025. The Assistant Examinations Manager focuses on the planning and delivery of the mock & public examinations on the Claires Court Senior Girls and Sixth Form site and has supervisory responsibility for a team of invigilators who work for the School on a part time basis during exam time.
Your prime focus will be the organisation of GCSE examination time-tables, examination and invigilation processes, and logistical aspects of reasonable adjustments and special needs. Your responsibilities cover BTEC, with a separate Exams officer to cover the A level commitments. As manager of a team of invigilators, you will recruit and train the invigilating staff, overseeing the highest standards of examination best practice. You will also liaise with examination boards, US universities and teaching colleagues within the School.
This role is vital in upholding the integrity of the examination/assessment process. Applicants will be asked to declare if they have invigilated previously and whether they have any current maladministration/malpractice sanctions applied to them.
The role is for 39 weeks of the year during term time and mid to late August for results and review/remarking of examination papers as required. For 23 weeks of the year, when examinations are not taking place you will be required for 4 hours a day over 4 days. For the remaining 16 weeks you will be required for full days ( on average 8 hours a day) over 5 days for both mocks and formal examinations.
This role will suit someone with previous experience of managing or supporting the examination arrangements within an educational setting and of handling data. You will be an extremely well-organised individual with a meticulous eye for detail and an ability to relate to young people, and will enjoy being part of the life of our vibrant school. You must be supportive, patient and comfortable giving clear instructions, adapting to individual students needs as required.
In return we offer a supportive positive environment.
