We are seeking a strategic and experienced Tax Partner to lead and grow our client's Financial Services Tax practice, with a focus on hedge funds, private equity, and other asset management clients. This is a client-facing leadership role with significant responsibility for relationship management, business development, and team leadership.

Can be based in Boston, Hartford, or Stamford.

Responsibilities:

* Serve as a strategic advisor to clients, providing insight on complex tax matters, including structuring, compliance, and evolving regulatory requirements, particularly within the Financial Services sector (e.g., hedge funds, private equity).
* Oversee the review and signing of complex tax returns (1065, 1120), ensuring technical accuracy, risk management, and alignment with client objectives.
* Guide the resolution of sophisticated tax issues through in-depth research and interpretation of the Internal Revenue Code, Treasury Regulations, and other authoritative guidance.
* Lead client engagements from inception through completion, including engagement scoping, planning, resource allocation, technical execution, and delivery of final work product.
* Identify and pursue growth opportunities within existing client relationships and actively contribute to new business development efforts through strategic networking, proposal development, and thought leadership.
* Act as a trusted relationship partner, fostering long-term partnerships through exceptional client service, proactive communication, and value-driven solutions.
* Provide mentorship and leadership to the tax team, including formal performance evaluations, real-time coaching, and technical development of professionals at all levels.
* Champion a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, bringing vision, initiative, and creative problem-solving to both client work and internal firm development.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree required; Master's in Accounting or Taxation strongly preferred
* CPA, JD, or EA designation required
* Minimum of 12 years of progressive tax experience, primarily within public accounting
* Proven track record of building and maintaining long-term client relationships in the Financial Services industry
* Significant leadership experience, including mentoring, managing, and developing high-performing tax professionals
* Deep technical expertise in partnership taxation and complex fund structures
* Exceptional executive presence and communication skills, both verbal and written
* Demonstrated success in driving business development and expanding market presence
* Proficiency in tax research and compliance tools, including GoSystems, CCH Axcess, and RIA
* Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
* Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple engagements and teams concurrently
