We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join a premier team of s at, Royal Air Force (RAF), United Kingdom.

What will be your primary role?

The primary purpose of this role is to perform a variety of store worker duties involved in the handling, marking, preparing, and maintaining of stock levels of grocery items. The successful applicant will usually work in an assigned department within the store (e.g., grocery, produce, meat, etc.), but may also perform rotational assignments within all departments. They will assist with unloading incoming shipments, receive supplies and equipment, resale items, verify shipments, report discrepancies, and use proper stock rotation. In addition, they will visually inspect and maintain adequate stock of perishable and non-perishable subsistence items, arrange, and replenish stock as necessary, determining prices and affixing selling price labels. On occasion, they may be required to operate a cash register scanning system which records unit prices in proper amounts and accounts and validate, and process payments including cash, checks, debit and credit card transactions, electronic benefits transfer transactions, and coupons. They may be asked to bag items, hand out flyers and/or coupons, assists patrons in the correct processing of their orders or retrieve carts from the parking lot.

What are the Key Skills required for this role?

* Skill in preparing, arranging and/or stacking items together for safety and neatness. Skill in rotating stock, recognizing and reporting items of poor and unacceptable quality, and sorting, washing, separating, and packaging quantities of produce and/or package meat products.
* Skill in operating a computer system that marks prices, calculates prices and weights of merchandise, prepares pricing labels, and prepares a variety of recurring reports.
* Skill in operating a manual and/or electric pallet jack in a safe manner to perform assigned duties.
* Knowledge of brand names, sizes of items, kinds and varieties of fresh fruits and vegetables and/or of the various cuts and types of meat products to ensure proper care and handling when preparing items for display

What are the conditions of employment for this role?

1. You will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable US and UK laws, rules and regulations.

2. You may be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft and you may also be required to travel to the US or other country, in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training, this position may also be coded as mission essential.

3. You will be required to complete a 6-month probationary period.

4. Overtime may be required, and you may be assigned other duties not included in this position description, but that are appropriate to the grade and skill set of the incumbent.

5. Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

6. Work requires continuous walking, standing, bending, and/or stooping and moving of arms to fill shelves, counters, build displays, and pick orders. Frequently lifts or moves heavy boxes or crates weighing up to 50 pounds. Occasionally, with assistance or with the use of pallet jack or other material handling equipment, lifts items weighing over 50 pounds.
