The shift pattern for this position is 5 days over 7, with shifts from 8:00-16:00 or 8:00-15:30.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within HMP Greenock for a Band 6 Charge Nurse to support the development of mental health care for inmates. The post is primarily based at HMP Greenock but may involve movement between four prison sites as needed. The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team, providing assessments, interventions, and contributing to the ongoing development of prison healthcare services.
Essential Criteria
* First Level Registered Mental Health Nurse
* Educated to degree level or equivalent
* Significant post-registration clinical experience
* Evidence of CPD and relevant post-basic study
* Understanding of professional, legal, and clinical accountability, including the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003
* Excellent communication and organizational skills
* Proficiency in current IT techniques
* Ability to work independently and prioritize workload
* Willingness to undertake Non-Medical Prescribing
* Full driving license
Desirable Criteria
* Knowledge of prison healthcare needs related to primary care, mental health, women’s health, and addiction support
* On the NMC register as a V300 practitioner or working towards V300 registration
