Process Safety - Student Placement

We are looking for a third‑year Chemical Engineering student for a 12‑month placement in our process safety teams based at Royston or Brimsdown.
Overview
As a Process Safety Intern you will support the development and implementation of the Process Safety Management strategy for our Refining & Chemicals Europe plants. You will focus on the delivery of process safety activities, support the development of Engineering Standards and the PHA programme.
Responsibilities
* Assist with the implementation of the Process Safety Management strategy for Brimsdown or Royston.
* Gain experience of a best practice Process Safety programme and be exposed to risk assessment methodologies such as HAZOP and LoPA.
* Help populate the register of all Process Safety related activities on site, ensuring PHRs/SILS/FMEAs are in place with associated "Basis of Safety" guidance for each process.
* Support closure of actions from hazard studies and gap analysis.
* Support and develop communications systems to improve process safety knowledge on site.
* Maintain and follow H & S, Environmental, Quality and Security Systems.
Qualifications
* Currently studying for a Chemical Engineering Degree with an expected grade of 2:2 or above.
* Engineering students who can take responsibility, want to gain hands‑on experience, are curious, passionate to learn and are strong communicators.
* Good technical understanding of a process environment.
* A strong interest in our business, our industry and in particular process safety.
