Events and Operations Assistant: Get Ready to Deliver Greatness

We're a thriving cupcake company in Swindon, with a bustling shop on the High Street, and we've just welcomed Rays Ice Cream into the family. Now, we need a capable and reliable individual to join our team and help us keep the sweet treats flowing and the good times rolling across both businesses. This isn't your average desk job – you'll be the practical powerhouse, supporting our events, keeping our trusty vans in top shape, and connecting with our customers while selling our delicious creations.
What will you be doing when you're not making people's day?
* Running Events: You'll be hitting the road in our vans or setting up our gazebos, bringing the joy of GlamoRose Cakes and Rays Ice Cream to events and bookings.
* Team Player: You'll be lending a hand to other staff, making sure they're set up for success at their own events and feeling fully supported.
* Delivery Driver: You'll be whisking our delectable cakes and ice cream to our wonderful wholesalers and clients.
* Van Maintenance: Our vans are crucial to our operation You'll be keeping them clean, ensuring their machinery is in top shape, fixing any minor glitches, and making sure they're always ready for their next big adventure.
* Organized & Prepared: Before a busy weekend, you'll be packing and organizing all our equipment and stock efficiently.
* Event Point of Contact: You'll be the go-to person when events are running, ready to swoop in and offer any support needed.
Who's our ideal candidate?
* Customer Focused: You have a passion for delivering excellent customer service. Experience in face-to-face selling to the general public and working with food would be a plus.
* Practical & Handy: You're super practical, hands-on, and not afraid to tackle minor repairs and maintenance on our vans.
* Strong & Capable: This role involves some heavy lifting (think gazebos, weights, tables), so you'll need to be physically strong and able to lift equipment.
* Detail-Oriented: You've got an eye for detail and love keeping things organized and clean.
* Road Ready: You must be over 25, have a valid driving license, and ideally have experience driving vans or larger vehicles.
A little more about this opportunity:
* This is a fixed-term contract until December 31st, with a review mid-December to potentially become a permanent position.
* You'll earn £13 an hour.
* Hours are based on your availability, with a minimum contract of 15 hours per week, but lots of over-time available if you want more
* Weekend availability (both days) is a must.
* Get ready for some exciting overtime opportunities at events over the festive Christmas period
* While you'll be based at our GlamoRose shop, most of your time will be spent out and about, connecting with our customers
