We’re working with a fantastic primary school in Walkergate that’s looking for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Reception and Year 1. These children need extra guidance to navigate their learning and build confidence. The school’s looking for someone kind, patient, and steady to be that person.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Providing 1:1 support to pupils with additional needs
2. Helping children develop independence, routines, and confidence
3. Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
4. Supporting communication, sensory, and behavioural strategies
5. Making the school day feel safe, structured, and positive
What you bring:
6. Experience supporting children with SEND (Autism, ADHD, SEMH)
7. A calm, nurturing approach (bonus points if you’ve got a good sense of humour too)
8. Confidence working with Early Years and Key Stage 1 pupils
9. Teamwork, empathy, and the ability to think on your feet

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
