STUDIO MANAGER We Realise Potential in Your Story Based in the heart of Shoreditch, we are a multi-platform production company, social media agency, and digital media network who are currently on a quest to find a Studio Manager to join our Network team. Is this your next opportunity? We are building a brand new studio at our head office on Brick Lane in London. Here, we’ll record new episodes of History Hit’s award-winning podcasts, which are now published as both audio and video, as well as original, creator-led, YouTube-first content. The Studio Manager will be the key person in ensuring the smooth running of the space, making sure equipment works (and fixing it when it doesn’t!), managing the flow of data, overseeing frequent set changes as well as filming the content. The studio will be in action most, if not all, days and be used by multiple production teams. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong capacity for managing the expectations of this critical role. They will also be comfortable scheduling the space, operating a multi-camera set-up, lighting rig and audio apparatus, and making sure our content output looks and sounds great! Please note that this role comes with an expectation of daily in-office attendance and some weekend and evening working. HOW YOU'LL SPEND YOUR TIME Holding primary responsibility (as the Camera Operator and Sound Recordist) for our studio equipment and technical setup including lights, cameras and peripherals, audio equipment, and data management; Overseeing studio schedule and resourcing; Responsible for the maintenance and first-line troubleshooting of studio kit; Data management for studio rushes; Thorough and ongoing knowledge of developments in studio equipment and software; Working with the Production Manager to plan for necessary upgrades and replacements of equipment and systems - researching, selecting, sourcing and budgeting; Working with production teams to identify time and resource efficiencies in studio activity; Supporting the production team and talent to deliver a steady stream of podcasts and YouTube original content; Supporting the production team to deliver all required extras (sponsor reads, marketing promos, etc); Supporting the production team with creative suggestions around staging and set design; Supporting the Production Manager with budgets, scheduling, planning and logistics of multiple studio-based sessions per month. WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED Skills matter, experience is useful, attitude is everything. Thorough understanding of all stages of the production of studio-based content for YouTube and of podcast production; Thorough understanding of and ability to operate the technical setup of the studio and its audiovisual and data management equipment. Specific apparatus includes but is not limited to: BlackMagic Studio Cameras Blackmagic ATEM Television Studio HD8 ISO Panasonic lenses Excellent and demonstrable experience in: Multi-camera studio filming; Sound recording / engineering; Digital-first production for YouTube or equivalent platforms; Digital and innovative content production; Post production paperwork and programmes including Silvermouse Strong knowledge of talent management, including maintaining and cultivating good relationships with talent; Proficient using G-Suite (inc. Sheets) and Microsoft Office (inc. Excel.), Asana or equivalent experience, which is highly desirable for this role.
