What you'll be doing:
The Data Privacy Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that the Group complies with data protection regulations and best practices. Additionally, the Data Privacy Specialist will ensure that the Group activities meet the data protection requirements set out in key intra Group documents including any data sharing agreements.
* Provide guidance to business owners through triage assessment and analysis of new proposals (whether new suppliers, new processes, projects or data fields) as to the data protection requirements that need to be in place.
* Ensure the Records of Processing Activity (‘RoPA’) schedules are kept up to date and comply with Article 30 of UK GDPR, by proactively managing the Group’s RoPA process.
* Support business and process owners with the completion of Data Protection Impact Assessments in line with UK GDPR and WP29 guidelines, as well as the organisation’s policy and procedure. Be responsible for the approval process for this activity.
* Assist the business with the selection of new suppliers in a tender process by carrying out data protection due diligence, assessing and scoring responses.
* Support business owners with the completion of other assessments such as Legitimate Interest Assessments and AI Assessments.
What we’re looking for:
* Proven experience in data privacy and protection.
* Strong understanding of data protection laws and regulations (e.g., UK GDPR, PeCR).
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
