Salary- £89.38/ day
Contract type- Part-time
We are looking for individuals with a background in practical applications and a technical mindset who want to share their skillset in a school environment. This role would involve working alongside teachers to nurture and support the education of students aged 11-16 years-old with Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
Successful applicants will be using their knowledgebase to guide student-learning in mechanical, electrical and woodworking trades. Any previous experience in such trades is crucial. Additionally, any other practical skills not mentioned are welcomed. Individuals must be patient, calm and have a drive to work in a SEN educational environment.
About the role-
- Supporting teachers in the school workshops to provide a nurturing and safe environment for students to learn and apply new practical skills.
- Working with small groups of students aged 11-16 years old with a range of Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) and on a 1:1 basis, if required.
- Positively contribute to a fulfilling environment where students can express themselves, learn and have fun outside of a traditional school environment.
- Providing support to students in an emotional capacity and displaying key characteristics such as empathy, reliability, and adaptability.
- Fostering a creative mindset to consistently develop new projects to work on and new ways to engage pupils.

Requirements-
- Qualifications/ experience in any relevant practical trade (e.g., carpentry, plumbing, electrical trades etc).
- Enhanced child and adult DBS on the Update Service (we can help with this).
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) (we can help with this, too).
- Experience in a SEN school is not required but preferred.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
