Job Details
We are looking for a committed Pupil Support Assistant (2) who is passionate about improving life chances for all, so that children and young people can achieve their full potential. As a Pupil Support Assistant (2), you will work under the supervision of a class teacher or senior staff to support children and young people requiring additional assistance.
You will be required to:
1. Support pupils/children individually, in class, or in small groups in areas of learning and personal development.
2. Contribute information for planning and review processes for individual pupils/children.
3. Supervise pupil/child self-administration of medication, offering a high level of personal care to enable full potential, including toileting, administering medication, and encouraging independence.
4. Implement support programmes designed by specialists, such as speech and language, physiotherapy, or occupational therapy programs.
5. Support pupil/child mobility for emergency or low-level needs, including toileting or short-term injuries.
The Person

* You should have good interpersonal skills to work effectively as part of a team and ensure positive outcomes for children and young people.
* Experience supporting young people with additional support needs is preferred.
* You must be able to register with SSSC within 6 months of employment and complete the required Post Registration Training and Learning (PRTL).
* For Early Learning Centres/Primary and Special Schools: hold an NC in Early Education and Childcare at SCQF Level 6, or SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF Level 6, or a similar qualification, or be committed to achieving this during your registration period.
* Good IT skills are required.
