Field Service Engineer at Atlas Copco
Your role
As a Field Service Engineer for Atlas Copco Tools & Industrial Assembly Solutions in the UK, you will support our tooling and joining solutions technologies for customers across many industry sectors. You will need sound mechanical and electrical competence and be able to support and work on software and integration systems with installation, commissioning, and planned maintenance activities.
You will be part of the Service Business Line and support our Industrial Technique business areas:
* Motor Vehicle Industry (MVI)
* General Industry (GI)
* Industrial Assembly Solutions (IAS)
Roles And Responsibilities
* Perform pre-delivery testing and inspection of tools before delivery/site installation.
* Install and commission new tooling, automation cells, and industrial assembly solutions at customer locations.
* Provide support and assistance for project delivery, working closely with Project Managers.
* Integrate and configure customer PLC interfaces to Atlas Copco Tool.
* Test and validate systems.
* Resolve problems and conduct root cause analysis.
* Provide customer training and operation guidance.
* Support customer staff during pilot phases.
* Undertake all necessary preventative maintenance on all power tool products, Industrial Assembly Solutions products, and software solutions.
* Manage calibration, testing, and certification of all Atlas Copco power tool products.
* Identify and deliver sales opportunities (software/upgrades, optimization) for field service, working closely with Service Sales Managers.
* Operate primarily from the North Midlands; field‑based coverage across the UK with a dedicated territory.
* Occasional overnight stays and overtime may be required following customer and company needs.
You will report directly to the Service Team Manager.
Qualifications
To succeed, you will need:
* A HNC in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
* Knowledge of industrial power tools (pneumatic, battery, DC).
* Experience in a manufacturing or customer service environment.
* Network infrastructure knowledge.
* Experience with PLCs and line control systems.
