We have an exciting opportunity for a Fixed-Term People Information and Insight Analyst to join the HR Systems and Information team at Imperial College. You will assist College departments by delivering a schedule of reporting and responding to a variety of data requests. You will play a key part in producing data to support reporting requirements for the Great Service transformation programme as well as providing insight on staff provision, equality monitoring, reward projects, and policy design.
You will be responsible for delivering and maintaining scheduled reporting alongside the coordination of ad-hoc requests for HR data. You will liaise with key customers to guide them through their information requirements and arrange report access to help them with their HR decisions. You will look for trends in common requests and support the team on their journey to build on the current set of operational and strategic dashboards.
You will prepare information for statutory returns and surveys on topics such as pay, workforce planning and other performance indicators. This role involves extracting data from our HR database and manipulating it using formulas in Excel or other analytical tools to provide summary insight to our customers. You will also collaborate closely with HR teams, ICT and other departments across the college to support some of these projects.
To perform this role, we are looking for an outstanding candidate who has:
1. Experience of coordinating and prioritising multiple varied tasks to deliver high standard reports on time.
2. A love of numbers and has demonstrated expertise in analysing data, using Microsoft Excel or other analytical tools to manipulate and join datasets with formulas and functions.
3. A proven customer focussed approach to work. Collaborating closely with colleagues to understand their requirements and keeping them updated with progress.
4. A structured and methodical approach to problem solving and analysis.
5. The ability to attentively check for accuracy, question the data and quality check outputs.
6. Sound working understanding of the GDPR as confidentiality is central to this role since you will be working with all aspects of HR related data.
7. Plenty of self-motivation, a self-starter who can also work with others to build something great and adapt to changing priorities.
8. Knowledge of Office 365 applications (use of Microsoft Power BI is desirable).
