Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Seamstress (Alterations Specialist) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality alterations and tailoring services to our clients, ensuring garments are fitted perfectly and meet customer expectations. Responsibilities
* Perform alterations and tailoring on a variety of garments, including dresses, suits, trousers, and other clothing items
* Take accurate measurements and assess the required adjustments for each client
* Use sewing machines, hand sewing techniques, and other tools to modify garments as needed
* Ensure all alterations are completed within specified timeframes while maintaining high standards of quality
* Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide expert advice on fitting options
* Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations
* Keep records of alterations performed for each client
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a seamstress or alterations specialist, with a strong portfolio of completed work
* Proficiency in using various sewing machines and hand sewing techniques
* Excellent attention to detail and precision in measuring and stitching
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
* Good communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members
* Knowledge of different fabrics, garment construction, and fitting techniques is desirable
* Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
