Job Overview
: Multi skilled engineer To deliver effective maintenance and repair services across mechanical systems, plumbing, and building fabric, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of facilities. The role involves planned and reactive maintenance, compliance with health and safety standards, and supporting operational continuity.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on mechanical systems, plumbing, and building fabric.
2. Diagnose and resolve faults on heating systems, pumps, valves, pipework, and general building infrastructure.
3. Carry out minor electrical tasks (e.g., replacing lamps, checking sockets) within competency limits.
4. Maintain HVAC systems, boilers, and associated plant equipment.
5. Undertake general building maintenance, including doors, locks, flooring, and basic joinery.
6. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, risk assessments, and permit-to-work systems.
7. Keep accurate records of work completed and materials used.
8. Support sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives.
9. Participate in on-call rota and provide emergency support when required.
Qualifications & Experience:
10. Essential: Recognized qualification in mechanical engineering, plumbing, or building services (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent). Proven experience in multi-skilled maintenance within commercial or industrial environments. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, plumbing, and building fabric repairs. Basic electrical competency for minor tasks (not primary focus). Ability to read technical drawings and follow maintenance schedules. Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
