Overview
We are seeking an experienced and resilient Maths and English Tutor to support a Year 11 student with complex needs. The young person has a history of developmental trauma, has previously been a Child in Care (CiC), and has been permanently excluded from mainstream school. The student presents with SEMH needs, emotion‑regulation difficulties, and historically low engagement and attendance. We require a tutor who can deliver learning through a mentoring‑led, relationship‑based approach, offering consistency, structure, and emotional safety.
Role Details
* Subject: Maths & English
* Approach: Mentoring-focused, trauma-informed, relationship-based
* Location: DT4
* Rate: £25‑£30 per hour
* Hours: 10 hours a week
* Start: ASAP
* Duration: Ongoing
Requirements
* Minimum 6 months’ experience in a UK education setting (school, alternative provision, tutoring, etc.)
* Experience supporting students with SEMH, PEX history, or trauma‑informed practice (desirable)
* Ability to build trust with disengaged learners
* Reliable, patient, and committed to consistent delivery
