The Role: Specialized Educational Support in Luton

We are seeking dedicated and professional individuals to join our partner schools in Luton as a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant. This role is critical to supporting the holistic development of pupils, ensuring a structured and productive learning environment across various age groups.

You will provide essential academic and emotional support, working with students either one-to-one or in small, focused groups, to execute individualized education plans (IEPs) and promote student independence.

Experience and Background (Transferable Skills)

* No prior school experience is mandatory.

* Transferable skills from backgrounds in care/support work, youth services, residential settings, or coaching are highly valued.

* Prior experience supporting children with SEN is an advantage.

* Professionalism & Reliability: Consistent attendance and commitment to the school day.

* Patience & Empathy: A mature approach to managing challenging behaviour and complex needs.

* Proactive Engagement: The ability to anticipate needs and actively assist the class teacher.

Feature Detail
Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Luton, Bedfordshire (Accessible sites across the Luton area)
Schedule: Consistent Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM (minor flexibility may apply).
Remuneration: Competitive daily pay rate (Talk to us about your experience!).
Leave: Weekends and all school holidays are non-working periods.

* Demonstrable passion for working within the field of Special Educational Needs.

* Valid DBS on the Update Service, or immediate willingness to process an application.

* Commitment to being a positive and consistent influence in the school community.

* Please Note: This opportunity is open to UK residents. If recently relocated, a police clearance certificate from your previous country of residence will be required.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
