Job Overview
The purpose of the Programme Trainer/Coach role is to support the development of new sales and service talent via one of our premium automotive client’s 18‑month van talent programme. The role will also contribute to the broader learning and development offering delivered by RTS Academy. The role is intended to ensure that learners are fully supported throughout their development journey, playing a key part in bridging the gap between structured learning and real‑world application, helping both individuals and businesses achieve long‑term growth and capability. In addition to programme mentoring, the role also supports the delivery of RTS Academy training to a wider client base. This aspect of the role is focused on equipping individuals with the skills and behaviours needed to perform effectively in their roles, ensuring a consistent and impactful learning experience across all delivery formats.
Responsibilities
* Provide ongoing mentoring and pastoral support to participants in the Van Talent Development Programme, ensuring engagement and progression throughout the 18‑month course.
* Monitor learner progress and facilitate 1:1 reviews, supporting their achievement of required certification and professional membership goals.
* Coordinate in‑dealer coaching, job shadowing, on‑the‑job learning, and webinar sessions.
* Liaise regularly with participants’ line managers to ensure that in‑dealer experiences reinforce programme learning, and that learners receive the coaching, feedback and support required for success.
* Deliver engaging training sessions to external clients via virtual classrooms / in‑person delivery, in line with RTS Certified Trainer standards.
* Contribute to the development and refinement of course content, ensuring alignment with RTS methodologies and client expectations.
* Stay informed on industry trends and incorporate innovative tools, methods, and RTS‑certified techniques into training programmes.
* Manage and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including manufacturer representatives, dealership leadership, and internal RTS colleagues, to ensure alignment of programme objectives and sustained support for learners.
Qualifications
* 3–5 years’ experience minimum in training delivery (automotive, especially vans, heavily preferred).
* Training qualifications (e.g. TAP) and/or coaching qualification/diploma.
* General automotive experience highly favoured.
