Business Solutions Architect (Consultant)
As a Business Solutions Architect at Actica, you will support high‑profile UK public sector and defence organisations, enabling them to maximise the benefit of their technology investments on nationally critical projects that impact everyday life.
You will apply architecture skills across consulting projects and clients to deliver high‑value strategy, business analysis, technology and procurement consultancy, ensuring solutions align with business strategy.
Eligibility: Candidates must be eligible and willing to obtain UK Security Clearance.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide architecture services in complex transformation programmes, aligning and driving coherent delivery based on value streams.
* Develop baseline and transition architectures to support the client’s strategic and implementation planning of ICT services within a business change programme.
* Create architecture views describing all aspects of the client’s organisation, including business, applications and data.
* Develop and assure high‑level solution designs.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
* Experience with enterprise or business architecture frameworks such as TOGAF in large, complex organisations.
* Produce architecture documentation, e.g., options assessments, to engage stakeholders in informal and formal governance settings.
* Flexible, consulting mindset – quick thinking, proactive, self‑motivated, and able to apply structured approaches to unfamiliar subjects.
* Excellent interpersonal, presentation and written communication skills.
Desirable Attributes
* Experience in the public sector, defence or financial services, preferably ICT context on enterprise solutions.
* Consulting experience in the public sector or defence.
* Architectural expertise in one or more of business, solutions or service architecture domains.

Working Arrangements
* Hybrid model with an office base in Guildford, Surrey and access to other offices in London, Swindon and Cheltenham.
* Typical week: 2–3 days at client sites, remainder at home or office. Some projects may require up to 5 days per week on‑site.
* Projects may require absence from home during the working week.
* Team‑based environment with opportunities to participate in internal initiatives.
