Job summary

Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in County Durham and Darlington are seeking to recruit a CAMHS Clinician (fixed term/secondment - 6 months) to work part time (30 hours) in our Darlington Getting More Help Team. This post requires the candidate to have a professional registration in Child, mental health or Learning disability nursing.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, well-motivated, forward-thinking clinician to work as part of our team - working with young people with mental health problems.

Candidates must have 18 months post qualifying experience including sign off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework at the time of applying.

Applicants must ensure that prior to applying they have agreement from their current line manager that they can be released on a secondment basis.

Main duties of the job

The Darlington CAMHS team provides mental health assessments, treatment, and interventions for children and young people experiencing moderate to severe, complex emotional, behavioural, and psychological difficulties.

We are a dynamic, compassionate team made up of clinicians from diverse professional backgrounds, including Nursing, Psychology, and Social Work. This multi-disciplinary approach enables us to deliver high-quality, holistic mental health care to the children and families who access our services.

As a CAMHS clinician, you will work collaboratively within the MDT to provide assessments and evidence-based interventions to young people and their families.

Job responsibilities

As part of the MDT you will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills and provide evidence based interventions and therapies to children and young peoples.

The role can be demanding but also highly rewarding so you will need to be someone who is motivated, resilient and passionate about working with this client group.

Qualifications

Essential

1. Current professional registration with appropriate body in healthcare or social work.
2. Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.

13. Provide effective clinical supervision, teaching, training and assessing in clinical practice
