Wood is recruiting for Senior Construction Manager to support a high-profile client across UK projects.

The Senior Construction Manager will join our Upstream team within our Operations business.

The preferred location for this role is our Aberdeen office; however, we are open to considering candidates based near our Glasgow, Stockton, or Staines offices. There will also be a requirement to visit UK based client sites as and when required.

Please note applicants must be able to pass HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check.

The Role

The Senior Construction Manager will drive performance and delivery excellence through the strategic management of the Construction function across a framework of brownfield EPCm projects delivering an upgrade of automation controls and cyber security systems.

As an experienced Senior Construction Manager, you will support and assure delivery excellence across all Construction requirements and will lead by example, consistently displaying and enforcing the Company’s values and behaviours, role modelling commitment to the highest standards of safe and ethical behaviour and creating an inclusive work environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for functional management and development of resources and governance of discipline practices and procedures. Provide leadership to Lead/Principal personnel and have functional oversight of the performance of all relevant construction cross the framework.

Expected:

9. Typically, minimum qualified to ISCED Level 5 (technical diploma/apprenticeship) or equivalent combination of qualifications and experience
10. Previous experience in managing a team of construction personnel
11. Appropriate level of field construction experience
12. Exposure to working within a technical environment
13. Experience of people management in a construction context
14. Broad understanding of the business drivers for relevant industry sector clients
15. Excellent stakeholder management skills at all levels of the business internal and external
16. Leads on recruitment and selection and sets tone for culture within team: significantly impacts on performance, engagement, productivity and retention of construction and commissioning resources
