Operational Support Location: Wrexham Salary from £27,498 Closing Date 06/03/2026 Help us create a better future, quicker The Operational Support role exists to provide administrative, data, and system support to Design Engineers and Project Co-ordinators within Development House. The post holder plays a critical role in enabling the team to deliver a pipeline of investment works aligned to the business plan. A core aspect of the role is the generation and maintenance of projects within corporate systems — primarily SAP PM and SAP PPM — using information supplied by engineers. The role also provides wider operational support across data management, reporting, document preparation, and process compliance. What you’ll be doing Project & System Administration Create, build and maintain projects and work orders in SAP PM and SAP PPM in line with business rules and data standards. Ensure project data is accurate, complete, and updated throughout the project lifecycle. Liaise with engineers and co-ordinators to ensure timely project creation. Track project progress and flag inconsistencies or issues proactively. Data Management & Reporting Maintain structured data sets to support project planning, performance tracking, and investment pipeline management. Produce regular reports using Excel and Power BI, ensuring high levels of data accuracy. Prepare dashboards, trackers, and summaries to support team decision-making. Extract, cleanse, and manipulate data from SAP and other corporate systems as required. Documentation & Governance Draft and maintain method statements, procedural documents, and supporting technical papers. Prepare basic financial papers, including cost summaries, funding requests, and investment documentation. Ensure documents meet internal standards for quality, consistency, and compliance. Support the co-ordination of audits, reviews, and quality assurance activities. General Operational Support Provide administrative support to the Design & Development team, including minute-taking, file management, and correspondence. Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline processes and enhance data quality. Assist with onboarding and induction documentation for new starters in the team. Support cross-team collaboration and communication efforts. What you’ll bring Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Experience working with corporate systems, ideally SAP PM and/or SAP PPM. Excellent data handling, validation, and reporting skills. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. High attention to detail, particularly in data accuracy and written documentation. Ability to write clear and structured technical documents and method statements. Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams. Experience working within engineering, utilities, infrastructure, or construction environments. Familiarity with Power BI report building or dashboard creation. Understanding of project lifecycle processes in an investment or capital delivery environment. Knowledge of document control or quality management practices. Proactive and solutions-focused. Reliable, methodical, and organised. Comfortable working with technical information.
