Expleo is seeking experienced Battery Engineers to support a leading automotive customer in Warwickshire(Contract role). This is a fantastic opportunity to work within state-of-the-art battery development facilities, contributing to next-generation electrified powertrain technologies. The Opportunity You will join the Engineering Operations Powertrain team, working within advanced battery testing facilities to support the development, validation, and verification of high-voltage (HV) traction battery systems. These facilities include cutting-edge equipment for electrical characterisation and performance testing at cell, module, and pack level. The Battery Test Operations team ensures efficient, quality-focused test workflows for HV battery programmes, supporting internal laboratories in Coventry and Gaydon, as well as external test sites when required. As a Battery Test/Delivery Engineer, you will be responsible for coordinating end-to-end test delivery, ensuring technical accuracy, safety compliance, and high-quality data outputs that enable critical engineering decisions. Key Responsibilities Own the full test delivery process, ensuring all test facilities and components are correctly prepared, and that testing follows agreed schedules for accurate, timely data generation. Provide technical expertise in both the setup and execution of HV battery tests, including data measurement, interpretation, and reporting. Plan and coordinate the activities of small project teams to ensure smooth, efficient testing operations. Review incoming test requests, assess feasibility, and ensure all proposed testing sits below EUCAR Hazard Level 4. Champion best practice in process documentation, following established safety protocols including Safe Systems of Work (SSoW). Support the tracking, reporting, and communication of team KPIs to senior leadership. Operate across either the Coventry or Gaydon facility, with occasional travel to other Midlands sites when required. Skills Required:- Demonstrated experience in supervising engineering teams, offering technical advice and guidance, and a proven ability to mentor and train others-particularly technicians, apprentices, and skilled associates Extensive experience in requirements capture, data acquisition, control systems, programming of automated tests, as well as the analysis and reporting of test data A natural problem-solver with a structured and methodical approach to resolving technical challenges in complex environments Strong understanding of Health and Safety regulations, including Risk Assessments, COSHH, and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) Sound knowledge of working in high-voltage or high-risk environments, with hands-on experience in Lithium-ion battery technology An individual who can positively challenge existing thinking while building credibility and trust through both experience and personal approach.
