An established main contractor operating across Suffolk and Essex is seeking an experienced Senior Planner to join its Pre‑Construction team and play a key role in strengthening project pipelines and securing new tenders.
Projects cover a wide range of sectors including education, commercial, healthcare, industrial, defence, retail, and leisure developments, typically up to £30m in value.
The Role
Reporting to the Pre‑Construction Director, this role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced Planner, or a Project Manager / Contracts Manager looking to transition into a pre‑construction planning role.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading tender planning and programming activities within the pre‑construction team
* Developing robust and contract‑compliant tender stage programmes
* Supporting successful bid submissions through effective planning strategies
* Establishing project controls and internal reporting from tender stage
* Producing optimised programmes considering resources, risks, and opportunities
* Liaising closely with pre‑construction, project teams, clients, and supply chain partners
Desired Experience
* Relevant industry qualification (Degree or HND preferred)
* Experience working on similar construction projects within a pre‑construction or tendering environment
* Strong IT skills, including planning software such as ASTA Powerproject
* Good understanding of NEC3 / NEC4 contracts and programme management requirements
