Job Description
Reporting to the Director of Care, the Resident Care Coordinator (RCC) is responsible for ensuring the highest standard of care and service provided to the residents of Cupar and District Nursing Home Inc. (Shalom) An experienced practitioner, the RCC acts in a leadership role to provide specialized clinical expertise, coordination of resident care and support and reaching to the resident care team (including residents and their families) within a collaborative environment. The incumbent must be able to multitask and, although the routine practices are pre-determined, critical thinking and independent judgement is an integral part of the position. The incumbent must be a nurse, registered with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan and be a member in good standing.

Required Qualifications
1. Current registration in good standing with College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
Experience
A minimum of three years recent experience in long term care nursing is required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
2. A strong theoretical grounding in the provision of a comprehensive range of services to long term care residents in the management of responsive behaviours.
3. Ability to accept and implement change
4. Ability to be receptive to innovation and change and keep abreast of highly complex and constantly changing technology.
5. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
6. Ability to learn new skills, show initiative, functions with considerable self-reliance and demonstrate ability to use sound clinical judgement.
7. Ability to perform the functions of the position, after unit orientation and training for certifiable skills
8. Ability to work within a team environment as a contributing team member through respectful and collaborative relationships.
9. Demonstrates critical thinking, ability to problem solve, utilization of conflict resolution skills and decision-making abilities.
10. Practice in a "person centric" model of care, including knowledge in the diversity of cultures and preferences.
