What You’ll Be Doing
* Maintain the highest levels of care by supporting residents with washing, toileting, dressing, undressing and all other aspects of daily living.
* Assist residents in all aspects of their care needs (physical, emotional, spiritual). Provide attention while ensuring comfort and dignity.
* Pay particular attention to residents with limited mobility or learning difficulties, making best use of aids provided.
* Closely monitor residents who may be confused or have behavioural problems.
* Assist in the promotion of continence.
* Assist in the delivery of care for residents who are dying or have a progressive illness. Assist with last offices.
* Observe care‑planning needs and complete written daily records as instructed, in line with company policies and procedures.
* Assist in the framework of social activities by interacting with residents and helping them continue hobbies and activities.
* Answer nurse call system, door and telephone appropriately. Respond and pass on messages promptly.
* Under supervision, report on the well‑being of residents.
* Carry out regular checks on residents at intervals determined by senior staff.
* Make visitors feel welcome and provide refreshments or assistance as required.
* Make and change beds, ensure rooms are clean and tidy, commodes are emptied, in line with the Home’s waste disposal policy and resource use standards.
* Clean and maintain equipment used by residents and families (e.g., wheelchairs, hearing aids, spectacles) to keep the Home clean and tidy.
* Record participation and feedback to ensure meaningful engagement.
