We’re looking for an experienced Catalogue & Content Team Manager to lead the production, process optimisation, and governance of our product catalogue, content, guides, and blog articles across our websites.
Managing a team of internal specialists and freelance copywriters you will be responsible for maintaining a growing catalogue in excess of 20,000 products, hundreds of blog articles spanning more than 10 years, buyer’s guides, and other on-site content.
You will be driven by quality and velocity of content production, and will relish the challenge of finding creative ways to enhance our content production processes and toolkit.
This role is key to the success of our ecommerce function, and will require you to work closely with the buying teams, the web/tech team, and marketing team in our Guildford office.
Key Responsibilities
Catalogue Management
* Working with the key stakeholders in the business to define the web catalogue strategy and “what good looks like”
* Managing a team of catalogue copywriters ensure that all product copy, imagery, attributes, and other data is implemented efficiently and to predictable standards
* Set challenging yet realistic quality and velocity objectives for all catalogue content tasks and ensure your team has the skills and capacity to meet these objectives
* Own the catalogue content process. Ensure that our product data sources and PIM are being fully utilised and that new features and functionality are being adopted where appropriate. You will find ways to increase efficiency, remove bottlenecks, and minimise manual effort in repetitive low-skill tasks
* Work with the tech team to implement creative solutions to enhance the catalogue content process. Own the adoption of new tech within the team.
* Implement catalogue hygiene and review processes to ensure that our full catalogue of more than 20,000 products adhere to Andertons’ current standards
* Ensuring non-product catalogue data such as product list page copy is regularly reviewed, and updated to current Andertons’ standards
Content Production Management
* Work with key stakeholders in the business to define the content strategy for non-catalogue content including blogs, guides, landing pages, and other content to support the ecommerce journey
* Define the quality and velocity expectations for non-catalogue content production and ensure that your team has the skills and capacity to meet these objectives
* Manage internal and freelance copywriting resource to ensure that all non-catalogue content is produced and maintained to Andertons’ current standards
* Work with key stakeholders to maintain a content calendar to support product launches, marketing campaigns, and Andertons’ SEO strategy
Product Launches & Campaign Coordination
* Working closely with our in-house buying, marketing, and tech teams, you’ll collate all necessary materials to prepare your team for key campaigns, from single product launches to key trading events like Black Friday
* Refine larger projects into actionable tasks to delegate amongst the members of your team for efficient and effective delivery
* Working closely with our in-house buying, marketing, and tech teams, you’ll help maintain a shared calendar of every launch, event, and campaign for team-wide visibility
Team Management
* As a line manager to a small team, you’ll be responsible for day-to-day line-management tasks
* Ensure that the team’s resource can meet company expectations; this extends to team roles & structure, hiring, and ensuring your team have access to appropriate skills development & training
* Ensure your team has the clarity and visibility to understand their tasks and priorities, and how these contribute to Andertons’ commercial goals

About You
* Proven experience in managing catalogue content in a comparable ecommerce business
* Experience managing content & copywriting teams
* Strong product knowledge of musical instruments
* Confident with spreadsheets, CMS, project management, and PIM systems
* Commercial mindset: able to balance customer expectations with trading performance
* Clear communicator and collaborator across departments, you will build relationships and drive change in your area
* Organised, adaptable, and able to juggle fast-moving trading demands with planned workstreams
