Are you a passionate geriatric psychiatrist seeking a leadership role with impact? We're seeking a dedicated Consultant to join our vibrant team in Dover & Deal, in the ‘Garden of England’.
The Community Mental Health Care Group Older Persons (CMHCGOP) for Dover and Deal provides psychiatric assessment and treatment services for the over 65 population in these areas.
As a Consultant Psychiatrist in Old Age Psychiatry, you will have the opportunity to make a real impact on patients' lives, while enjoying professional development opportunities. You will join a supportive team alongside one Consultant colleague.
Applicants should ideally have MRCPsych or equivalent, be on or within six months of inclusion on the Specialist Register, fully GMC registered, with Approved Clinician status and S12 approval under the Mental Health Act (or achieve this within 3 months).
We offer a Recruitment Bonus of £15,000, relocation support up to £8,000, and flexible working options.
Main duties of the job
* Provide psychiatric care to patients referred to the Dover/Deal CMHCGOP, and offer senior medical leadership within the multidisciplinary team. Duties include outpatient clinics (face-to-face, video, or telephone), home visits, and reviews in residential and nursing homes.
* Conduct MCA and MHA assessments, attend complex case discussions, CPA and 117 reviews, and be available for urgent clinical matters.
* Participate in daily RED Board and referral triage meetings, weekly clinical meetings, monthly complex case discussions, and governance meetings.
* Support the team in maintaining MSNAP accreditation for the Memory Assessment Service.
* Collaborate closely with referrers, professionals, Social Services, carers, voluntary organizations, and client groups to promote multi-agency working.
