The role
As a Security Analyst you’ll have a role that is out of the ordinary. As a Security Analyst, you will be the first line of defence against a myriad of threats. You will be performing investigations in response to security alerts, identifying and responding to incidents along with providing wider cyber and information security support to the QinetiQ business. This role will require a focus on continuous improvement ensuring our security controls remain as effective and as efficient as possible.
Day-to-day, you will:
1. Support the triage and investigation of complex security alerts affecting QinetiQ Systems.
2. Develop, assess and report on the effectiveness of QinetiQ’s Security Controls.
3. Provide DFIR support into the wider QinetiQ Security Incident Response process.
4. Leverage wider tools to assess and escalate vulnerability affecting QinetiQ assets.
5. Stay updated with evolving threats, emerging security topics and security vulnerabilities.
6. Create comprehensive incident reports and actionable briefings for both technical and non-technical stakeholders based on technical analysis.
7. Support wider security activities and initiatives with subject matter expertise.
40 hours per week, on-site at our Malvern offices. Shift patterns of 08:00 – 16:00 in a 4 days on 4 days off pattern
Essential experience of the Security Analyst
8. Minimum of 2 years working in a IT Engineering, Development or Cyber Security Operations, or equivalent discipline.
9. Experience with cyber security technologies such as Splunk, Sentinel, Carbon Black etc.
10. Ability to work independently and translate security expertise into technical outcomes.
11. In-depth knowledge and understanding of cyber security concepts, protocols, industry best practices and strategies.
