Overview

The Gate Engineer is responsible for the accurate and efficient duty of servicing, repairing all equipment as covered within their range and scope of work and to be a respectable ambassador for the company at all times. The company installs and maintains an array of products such as security gates, pedestrian gates and car parking/traffic control equipment for commercial, public and private premises
Duties and Responsibilities for the Gate Engineer:
1. Diagnose faults and complete repairs, replacing components as required
2. Ensure attendance on site is in a timely manner for onsite inductions
3. Manage and deliver service, maintenance and installation projects
4. Fault find, test and service company and others electromechanical products
5. Provide accurate reports relating to the completed service, maintenance and installation jobs in a timely manner.
6. Liaise with the Service/Contracts/Maintenance teams to ensure that all jobs are completed on time and to the Company’s quality standards
7. Liaise with Customers in a professional manner to ensure that all service maintenance and new installations are completed to the customer’s satisfaction
8. Liaise with the technical and production departments
9. Completing necessary documentation accurately.
10. Manage van stock to ensure sufficient levels to carry out required works.
11. Ensure your vehicle is cleaned and serviced regularly and is road legal.
12. Ensure time sheets are completed accurately and sent to accounts before 10.00am on Monday for previous week.
13. Comply with all Health & Safety requirements and adhere to best working practices at all times
14. Comply with all company rules, regulations and legal requirements.
15. Over-night stays may be required and it may be at times necessary to travel to other locations within the UK
Skills and Qualifications for the Gate Engineer:
16. Be highly organised, with the ability to plan tasks and time effectively.
17. Have a thorough and methodical approach to completing tasks including fault finding.
18. Able to use initiative to resolve problems
19. Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision and to specific deadlines
20. Flexible attitude and ability to work within a team
21. Will be a strong communicator, confident liaising with clients, engineers and staff internally
22. Electrical certification including, but not limited to, 17th/18th Edition.
23. City and Guilds level 3 in electrical installations (or equivalent).
24. Previous experience within the gate and barrier industry.
25. Experience with access controls.

Salary: £39,382 per annum
