We are seeking a skilled and motivated Lead Engineer to take ownership of maintenance operations and guide a small technical team. This role combines hands-on engineering with mentoring, offering the opportunity to make a real impact by driving improvements and developing a proactive maintenance culture.

The Role
* Lead and support a team of multi-skilled maintenance technicians.
* Carry out both planned and reactive maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
* Develop and implement PPM schedules to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives and encourage a development mindset.
* Liaise with external contractors, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.
* Mentor junior team members, helping to build the right culture within the team.
* Deputise for the Systems Manager when required.
* Use CMMS systems and IT tools to plan, track, and report on maintenance activities.
About You
* NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.
* Multi-skilled background in electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
* Experience leading, mentoring, or coaching engineers.
* Strong fault-finding and repair skills – e.g. motors, bearings, sensors, belts, circuit breakers, drives.
* Background in automation and industrial/factory maintenance.
* Confident using IT systems for reporting and analysis.
* Able to safely work at height and manage contractors effectively.
* Must pass a DBS check and provide proof of qualifications.
