People Business Partner – Employee Relations
Salary: £34,000 – £38,000 DOE
Location: Lake District (near Ambleside)
Contract: Full-time
Our client is seeking an experienced People Business Partner (Employee Relations) to join their People & Culture team within a fast‑paced hospitality environment.
* The role will act as the main point of contact for employee relations, providing expert advice and support to managers and staff. Responsibilities include managing employee grievances, disciplinary cases, and performance issues, ensuring fair, consistent, and timely outcomes. You will also contribute to the development and ongoing review of ER policies to ensure compliance with employment law and best practice.
Working closely with Talent Acquisition and Learning & Development, you will support effective onboarding, identify training needs, and provide guidance to managers on HR best practice, policy interpretation, and legal compliance. Maintaining accurate ER records, supporting employee engagement initiatives, and contributing to wider people projects will also form part of the role.
* Continuous improvement is a key expectation of the position. The successful candidate will stay up to date with changes in employment law and industry best practice, contribute to the ongoing enhancement of HR policies and procedures, and support the Head of People & Culture with wider HR projects and initiatives as required.
About You
* You will be CIPD Level 5 qualified (or working towards) with at least two years’ experience in an Employee Relations role, ideally within hospitality or a similarly fast‑paced environment. A strong understanding of employment law, excellent communication and conflict‑resolution skills, and a proactive, discreet approach are essential.
