Manufacturing Supervisor – £55,000 – Stockport\n\nA well-established engineering and defence manufacturing business is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Supervisor to lead a high-performing production team at their site in Stockport.\n\nThis permanent position offers the opportunity to play a key role in delivering quality products on time and to cost, while championing a culture of continuous improvement. The successful candidate will lead by example, ensuring that health, safety, quality, and delivery standards are consistently met across the shop floor.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nSupervise day-to-day manufacturing operations to meet schedule, quality, and cost targets\n\nDrive continuous improvement across production processes and team performance\n\nLead safety, health, and environmental (SHE) activities in line with company policy\n\nManage resource planning, shift cover, and cross-functional redeployment as required\n\nConduct daily team briefings and maintain local KPI boards (SQCDP)\n\nReport production performance and initiate recovery actions when needed\n\nSupport employee development through on-the-job coaching and training\n\nMaintain workplace standards and audit readiness\n\nEnsure adherence to quality management systems and manufacturing procedures\n\nKey Requirements:\n\nDegree or HND in a Manufacturing or Engineering discipline\n\nMinimum 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment\n\nStrong leadership skills and experience managing risk in a production setting\n\nFamiliarity with aerospace, automotive, or precision engineering sectors\n\nExcellent communication, organisational, and structured problem-solving skills\n\nWorking knowledge of SAP and MRP systems (desirable)\n\nIOSH or NEBOSH certification (desirable)\n\nProficiency in MS Office applications\n\nThis is a hands-on leadership role offering both stability and scope for professional development.
