Procurement Specialist – 3- 6-month contract – £350- £500 per day (inside IR35) - Wallingford, Oxfordshire (onsite)

The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for executing day-to-day procurement activities to support manufacturing operations. This includes ensuring the timely and cost-effective supply of materials, components, and services to maintain production continuity.
Working closely with sourcing, planning, and production teams, the Buyer will play a key role in managing supplier relationships, tracking orders, and resolving supply chain challenges in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Raise and manage purchase orders in line with production requirements
2. Communicate with suppliers to confirm orders, delivery schedules, and shipment details
3. Expedite or reschedule orders to meet changing business needs
4. Monitor supplier performance and address delivery or quality issues
5. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure material availability and inventory accuracy
6. Support onboarding of new suppliers and manufacturing partners
7. Investigate and resolve supply issues, including delays, shortages, and discrepancies
8. Assist with inventory control to balance stock levels and reduce excess
9. Ensure compliance with procurement processes and supplier agreements
10. Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
Required Qualifications & Experience
11. Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
12. Minimum 3 years’ experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain
13. Experience working within a manufacturing or production environment
Desirable Skills & Experience
14. Experience sourcing direct materials or managing suppliers
15. Exposure to contract manufacturing or outsourced production
16. Understanding of logistics, international purchasing, and Incoterms
