Building Services Senior Electrical Estimator

About the role
An established Mechanical and Electrical contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Services Estimator to join its Pre-Construction team based in Cirencester.
The role would suit a commercially aware estimator with strong technical knowledge of building services and experience delivering estimates across a range of commercial projects. You will work closely with senior management and contribute to the successful delivery of competitive and well-considered tenders.
Reporting directly to the Construction Director, key responsibilities will include:

3. Reviewing tender documentation including specifications and employer’s requirements
4. Preparing accurate and timely cost estimates covering labour, materials and subcontract packages
5. Producing tenders for internal adjudication
6. Assessing and vetting supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure best value is achieved
7. Attending and leading tender adjudication meetings, presenting programme, pricing strategy and commercial risk
8. Monitoring and reviewing project costs against tender allowances
9. Maintaining and updating in-house costing and estimating software
10. Liaising with main contractors, clients, subcontractors, suppliers and internal design and delivery teams

Experience and qualifications
17. Proven experience in a similar estimating role within an M&E contractor or main contractor environment
18. Strong understanding of building services pricing, design and delivery
19. Ability to prepare estimates from drawings and specifications as a minimum
20. Experience within commercial, office or warehousing projects would be advantageous
21. Confident in estimating costs and programmes to meet tender deadlines
22. Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
23. Excellent numerical, analytical and written skills
24. General understanding of other MEP disciplines, BREEAM and sustainability principles
