With robust revenues and a loyal client portfolio, the business is now seeking to modernise its finance function to support future scalability, investment, and operational excellence. The Role As Fractional CFO, you will: Lead the professionalisation of the finance function, embedding rigour, structure, and consistency across processes, controls, and reporting. Provide strategic oversight and challenge to the Board and ownership group, offering clear financial insight to support informed decision-making. Enhance the quality and reliability of management information, including cashflow forecasting, budgeting, and working capital management. Strengthen internal controls, improve system usage, and establish scalable reporting frameworks to support long-term growth. Mentor and develop the existing finance team to increase autonomy, technical confidence, and business alignment. Support the business on broader strategic matters such as capex planning, margin analysis, supplier engagement, and funding structures. Operate as a trusted commercial sounding board to the Managing Director and senior leadership. Your Profile You will ideally have: A formal accountancy qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, or CIMA). Proven experience as a senior finance leader within a manufacturing or industrial setting. A background in helping businesses move from "owner-led" or "family-run" finance models to a more formalised, future-proofed structure. Strong working knowledge of SME finance operations, with a hands-on style and commercial sensibility. The credibility to influence both operational teams and ownership stakeholders, offering practical improvements without over-complication. Compensation & Benefits This Fractional CFO opportunity pays £700-1,000 per day, depending on experience and profile. The business requires a 1-2 day per week commitment, with at least one day per week on-site in Greater Manchester.
