Job Title - Finance Apprentice
Hours of Work - Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm with a 1 hour lunch break
Location: Shrewsbury, SY4 4RR

About The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring finance professional to gain hands-on experience while studying towards a Level 2 qualification. The successful candidate will support the finance team across a broad range of responsibilities including processing purchase and sales invoices, handling daily bank transactions, assisting with nominal journals, and contributing to month-end accounts and stock count processes. You will gain exposure to a variety of accounting software from Sage to bespoke platforms and build commercial insight across multiple industries including motor, agriculture, and manufacturing. This role offers a strong foundation for anyone looking to develop a well-rounded finance career.
Responsibilities/Accountabilities
* Assisting with the inputting and processing of purchase invoices
* Assisting with the inputting and processing of sales invoices
* Processing of daily bank transactions
* Processing of nominal journals
* Assisting with the month end accounts process along with helping to analyse business performance
* Assisting with the completion of stock counts
* Filing of invoices and other documents
Candidate Requirements
* Genuine interest in finance and a desire to build a long-term career in accounting
* Willingness to study towards a Level 3 AAT qualification
* Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills
* Basic understanding of Microsoft Excel and general IT confidence
* Strong written and verbal communication abilities
* Proactive attitude and eagerness to learn from a supportive team
* Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks
* Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English at grade 4 (C) or above
