Nelson Permanent Placements are working with our client, a leading manufacturer and distributor of electrical and mechanical products who is seeking a Supply Planner to join their team.
The role is central to ensuring the right products are available at the right time and in the right quantities to meet customer demand, while maintaining efficient inventory levels and controlling costs. This position plays a key part in balancing customer service, inventory performance, and cost efficiencies through effective planning and management of material and product flows.
Key Responsibilities of this role as a Supply Planner you will be:
* Act as the main point of contact for sales, logistics, purchasing, and manufacturing teams.
* Collaborate with departments to develop schedules and plans that best meet customer needs.
* Compare current and future orders with available inventory and anticipate demand to acquire additional supplies when needed.
* Integrate sales orders with the master schedule and coordinate resources, including materials, equipment, and staff, to meet delivery dates.
* Maintain and update the master production and distribution schedule, alerting relevant teams to changes or delays.
* Manage forecasting meetings with sales, operations, and project teams.
* Create, issue, and monitor daily production schedules, ensuring deadlines are met.
* Ensure product quality, correct specifications, and quantity requirements are achieved.
* Record and communicate production progress and weekly updates.
* Identify operational issues and propose feasible solutions to optimise supply chain performance.
* Maintain appropriate inventory levels while balancing current and future customer demand.
To be considered for this role as a Supply Planner you will be:
* Educated to degree level in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
* Experienced with at least 5 years in supply chain planning, inventory management, or a similar role.
* Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
* Excellent in communication, teamwork, and stakeholder management.
* Organised, diligent, and able to prioritise tasks effectively.
* Knowledgeable in business and supply chain operations.
* Strong in analytical thinking, problem solving, and decision making.
* Experienced in production planning systems such as MRP.
