A new opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a specialist and growing engineering division to assist with the production of new designs and modify and update existing designs by producing accurate technical drawings
This is an amazing opportunity to join a company with a global reputation who provide services to the aircraft industry. The successful candidate will undertake design work on contracts based on analysis of specifications, producing accurate drawings and liaising with production, purchasing and sales where necessary.
Knowledge in a wide range of areas including 3D design, electronics and PLC programming.
The role will suit candidates from a design background, with a degree in mechanical, electrical, or electronic engineering (or equivalent). You will need experience using 3D AutoCAD (Inventor) or SolidWorks and any additional knowledge of electronics or PLCs would be advantageous, however PLC programming training can be provided.
The successful candidate will be predominately involved in the mechanical design of vehicles however the role will also involve electrical design the candidate will be responsible for using AutoCAD to produce technical drawings and schematics, for both new designs and new processes. You will be involved in testing the equipment and QA.

The role involves:
* Design and detailing of Aircraft vehicles and associated equipment
* Creation of engineering proposals
* Generation of tender documents from customer specifications
* Selection of components, compilation of BOMs and costings
* Communication of preliminary designs to both Sales & Design
* Preparation of 3D CAD data & 2D manufacturing drawings using Inventor & AutoCAD
* Project management of contracts from concept through to delivery
* Supervision of shop floor personnel
