E-commerce Warehouse Operative
Department: Warehouse & Logistics
Reports to: Warehouse Manager / Supply Chain Manager
Job Type: Zero Hour contract - 37.5hours on average with opportunity for Full Time Permanent
Job Purpose:
To support the efficient operation of the e-commerce warehouse by ensuring accurate picking, packing, and dispatching of online orders, maintaining inventory integrity, and contributing to a safe and productive working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Order Fulfilment:
Pick and pack customer orders accurately and efficiently using handheld scanners and/or pick lists.
Stock Management:
Receive, check, and store incoming goods. Assist with stock counts and inventory audits.
Dispatch & Shipping:
Prepare parcels for dispatch, ensuring correct labelling and documentation. Liaise with courier services as needed.
Returns Processing:
Handle returned items, inspect for damage, and update inventory systems accordingly.
Warehouse Maintenance:
Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety standards.
System Updates:
Use warehouse management systems (WMS) to update stock levels and order statuses.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with other warehouse operatives and supervisors to meet daily targets and KPIs.
Skills & Experience Required:
Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics role (e-commerce preferred)
Basic IT skills
Familiarity with WMS or inventory software. Experience with Linnworks and or Sage 200 would be an advantage
Ability to lift and move items safely
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good communication and teamwork skills
Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, or overtime as required
