We're seeking an experienced and commercially driven Finance Director to help lead the performance and future direction of our Retail & Mobile business. Reporting to the Finance Director for Technical Services and operating as part of the wider finance leadership team, this is a highly influential role working at the heart of the business alongside operational and commercial leaders.
You’ll bring financial rigour, strategic insight and a growth mindset, using data, digital tools and clear storytelling to turn strategy into results and ambition into measurable outcomes.
The role This role is fundamentally about value creation. As Finance Director, you will lead financial performance across the Retail & Mobile portfolio, working closely with the Managing Director and senior leadership team to translate strategy into robust financial plans, forecasts and decisions.
Your Focus Will Include
Driving revenue growth, margin improvement and contract profitability, including the turnaround of low margin or loss‑making work
Providing forward‑looking insight through high‑quality analysis, modelling and scenario planning to support strategic decisions, bids and investments
Strengthening working capital, cash performance and governance, ensuring clarity, control and confidence in financial information
Acting as a trusted strategic partner to operational, commercial and business development teams
You’ll also play a key role in shaping the future of finance, challenging existing ways of working and championing digital transformation through automation, data excellence and the responsible use of AI. Central to your success will be building and leading a high‑performing finance team, embedding strong standards for business partnering, insight and continuous improvement.
What you’ll bring You’ll be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with significant commercial experience in complex, fast‑paced environments. You’ll combine strong technical and analytical capability with commercial acumen and confident stakeholder presence.
