Procurement Manager
Are you a strategic thinker with a keen commercial eye and a passion for engineering procurement? We’re looking for an Procurement Manager with an engineering background to spearhead high-impact procurement initiatives across multiple complex sites in the UK.
This is a standout opportunity to influence critical engineering operations, manage a significant procurement spend, and deliver long-term value across a wide range of categories – from electrical services and hydraulics to fabrication and non-destructive testing.
What You'll Be Doing

Develop and execute procurement strategies that reduce cost, enhance supplier performance, and mitigate risk.

Take ownership of a multi-million-pound annual spend, ensuring strategic alignment with organisational and operational goals.
*
Drive supplier consolidation and value creation across key engineering categories such as refractories, conveyors, boiler cleaning, and industrial services.
*
Provide leadership and guidance to an Engineering Category Manager, building supplier governance frameworks and nurturing high-value partnerships.
*
Lead negotiations, manage supplier performance, and ensure compliance with CDM regulations, NEC/JCT contracts, and internal governance standards.
*
Work cross-functionally with legal, operational teams, and non-engineering procurement leaders to create a unified, efficient procurement strategy.
*
Monitor and control procurement budgets, ensuring alignment with financial objectives while delivering sustainable cost savings.
Experience & Qualifications
*
Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
*
Ideally CIPS qualified (or currently working towards).
*
Solid background in strategic procurement for engineering, construction, or industrial sectors.
*
Demonstrated success in managing high-value, high-risk procurement portfolios and delivering measurable results.
Skills & Traits

Expert understanding of CDM regulations and engineering procurement compliance.

Proficient with systems like SAP
*
Commercially astute, data-driven, and a confident negotiator.
*
Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
*
Ability to drive innovation, collaboration, and operational efficiency in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
