To help us get there, we are looking for an experienced System Engineer and subject matter expert to lead product design efforts for complex engineering and material systems within our Advanced Wound Management Systems team for new product development that will objectively change wound outcomes and patient lives.
What will you be doing?
Lead large, complex medical device system design projects, supervising full systems and subsystems across our device and dressing portfolio.
Translate user needs into robust system requirements and architectures.
Manage system-related risks and anticipate project blockers, proactively resolving issues.
Act as technical project lead when necessary, running R&D budgets and schedules.
Ensure alignment of project objectives with business drivers and product solutions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive concept definition, analysis, and selection.
Mentor junior systems engineers and lead team efforts, maintaining expertise in system engineering best practices.
Develop and implement system verification and validation plans.
Ensure compliance with relevant quality standards.
Document all phases of development effectively.
Collaborate with various departments to incorporate inputs into system architecture.
Coordinate activities to achieve business objectives, determining methods and procedures.
Provide regular progress reports to systems engineering management and upper-level executives.
Partner with management on departmental resource plans and annual budgets.
What does success look like?
Our successful candidate will a strong background, which could include a wealth of knowledge from an advanced education in a relevant engineering or scientific subject area, or a strong working experience in a similar, technical role within a similar organisation/industry.
They will have experience leading projects relating to budget and/or schedules. A background in new product development, specifically within medical devices and an awareness of Design Control (21 CFR Part 820), ISO 13485 & 14971 would be highly advantageous, however not crucial.
